2021 Toyota Corolla vs Honda Civic

Are you in the market for a new sedan? Having a problem deciding which one is best for you and your family? Well, you've come to the right place! We have found two of the best on the market are the 2021 Toyota Carolla and the Honda Civic. Both of these have powerful and fuel-efficient engines, and there are plenty of tech and luxury features available. While both of these vehicles would make fine additions to your driveway, there are a few differences that set them apart. We will put these sedans to the test and declare a winner, so you know which one to put your hard-earned money toward.

2021 Toyota Corolla Power & Handling

There are two engines available for the 2021 Corolla, and they are both impressive. The first few trims see a 1.8-liter four-cylinder that pumps out 139 horsepower and connects to a continuously variable automatic transmission. Moving up to the SE gets you a 2.0-liter four-cylinder that ups the horsepower to 169 and gets around 151 lb-ft of torque while also pairing with the continuously variable automatic or a six-speed manual. No matter where you take the 2021 Corolla, you will be assured that you have enough power to get there. All Corolla's come standard with front-wheel-drive.

2021 Honda Civic Power & Handling

Unfortunately, only one engine is available for the Honda Civic. It's a 1.5-liter four-cylinder that pairs with either a continuously variable automatic transmission, which is standard on the LX and EX trims, or a six-speed manual, which is standard on the Sport and the Sport Turing. You also get improved horsepower and torque on the Sport and Sport Turing as well. Like the Corolla, all trims of the Honda Civic come with front-wheel-drive.

2021 Toyota Corolla Features & Design

There are five trim levels available for the 2021 Corolla, and each trim comes standard with a ton of fun features. Starting things out is the base L trim, which comes with LED headlights, 15-inch wheels, and a 7-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Moving up to the LE brings heated side mirrors, automatic climate control, and an 8-inch touchscreen. The most premium features can be found on the XLE as it comes with upgraded LED headlights, 16-inch alloy wheels, remote keyless entry with push-button start, heated front seats, simulated leather upholstery, and a sunroof. The SE ups the ante with sportier exterior trim accents, 18-inch alloy wheels, and sport front seats. The SE has a Nightshade edition that has a blackout exterior trim. The highest trim level is the Apex Edition that has an upgraded suspension, a lower ride height, and optional summer performance tires.

2021 Honda Civic Features & Design

Only four trims are available for the Honda Civic, but there are some interesting features here. Standard on the base LX are 16-inch alloy wheels, automatic climate control, a 5-inch touchscreen, and a four-speaker audio system. Moving up to the Sport adds foglights, keyless entry and push-button start, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, remote start, a sportier design, and a 7-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The EX adds a couple more sportier touches with heated side mirrors, rain-sensing windshield wipers, a sunroof, dual-zone climate control, heated front seats, and Sirus XM satellite radio. Finally, the Sport Turing adds LED headlights, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, heated rear outboard seats, leather seating, a power-adjustable driver's seat, and a 12-speaker audio system.

Conclusion:

While there are certainly merits to both sedans, we will give the victory to the 2021 Corolla. We love the six trim levels and the powerful and fuel-efficient engine options.
